Active Listening – Bite-sized Learning for Scientists, Researchers, & Academics
May 3 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm CEST€60
Being a good listener allows you to connect and resonate in a whole new way. Listening not only makes other people feel valued, but active listening helps you to uncover potential problems by “listening to what people aren’t saying”, spot opportunities, and prevent misunderstandings that can result in failed projects and unhappy colleagues.
In the same way that you can learn to be a better presenter, you can learn to become a good listener: it’s a learned skill that gets better with practice. In this session, you’ll learn:
- The power of attentive listening
- Common challenges that lead us to be poor listeners
- How to spot when we – and others – aren’t paying attention
- How to recapture attention
- How to make others feel heard
At the end of this session, you will have a set of techniques and tools that you can apply immediately to listen actively and improve the way in which you communicate and connect with others.
