Chalk Talks are a key component of faculty interviews and other informal presentations. But what does a Chalk Talk look like? We’ve curated some examples for you.

The bottom line? We don’t sell it, share it and we only capture information that identifies you personally through our contact form, and we only do that in order to reply to you.
We believe in keeping things simple but not dumbed-down. We work hard to explain concepts that can sometimes be complex in language that is clear, concise and consistent.
With that in mind, we welcome you to our very simple privacy and cookie policy. This outlines how we use your dat ( should you provide us with your details) and how we use cookies (and what cookies are, just in case this isn’t clear).
The last time we modified our privacy and cookie policy was on December 15th, 2020.
We don’t like people messing around with our data, so we don’t mess around with yours. Period.
Data privacy has never been more important and in light of the GDPR regulations that came into effect across the EU on the 25th May 2018. The laws on data protection are built around principals of transparency and control, which is something we take very seriously. That’s why we regularly review and update our privacy policy.
Our policy complies with the Data Protection Act 2018 accordingly incorporating the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The law requires us to tell you about your rights and our obligations to you in regards to the processing and control of your personal data. We do this now, by requesting that you read the information provided at: http://www.knowyourprivacyrights.org.

We may obtain information about your general internet usage by using cookie files which are stored on the hard drive of your computer.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small pieces of information generated by most websites that you visit. A cookie is a file that is stored in your web browser that allows the website or a third-party tool on a website to function as designed, and to recognise you, make your next visit easier and the website more useful to you. They collect information, and are then sent back to the originating website on each subsequent visit. They help us to improve our site and to deliver a better and more personalised service.
Some websites use more cookies than others – you’ll be pleased to know that our site uses the bare minimum!
Session cookies are stored in memory and are never “written to disk”. This means that they aren’t downloaded and saved to your device (phone, tablet or computer). When the browser closes, the cookie is permanently lost from this point on.
Persistent cookies are cookies that have an expiration date. These cookies stay in your browser, even after you close it and will only be removed if you choose to clear cookies from your browser cache or on the date the cookie expires. Most persistent cookies last for anything ranging from a day to a year, so it’s a good idea to clear your browser cache regularly if you don’t like having cookies hanging around for too long.

We store your data for 5 years. How did we decide upon this? Good question. We’ve been in business for 16 years in total, and we still work with customers who came to us in our first year. In general though, most people come back to us every 18 months or so for help and sometimes disappear for several years only to pop up again needing original artwork or help, at which point the 5 year storage period begins again. So we feel that 5 years is a good rule of thumb. After this period, assuming that you’ve not been in contact with us, we delete your data.
You have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes. We will usually inform you (before collecting your data) if we intend to use your data for such purposes or if we intend to disclose your information to any third party for such purposes. You can exercise your right to prevent such processing by checking certain boxes on the forms we use to collect your data.
You can also exercise the right at any time by contacting us at hello@scicommsuccess.com.

The Data Protection Act 2018 gives you the right to access information held about you. Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with this Act. Any access request may be subject to a fee of £10 to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you.
We do not provide services for purchase by children, nor do we market to children. If you are under 18, you may use our website only with consent from a parent or guardian.
